Great! that's the only way to describe it. Your first Wendy's cruise in was a huge success with 132 registered cars, and a great turnout of car lovers who were just there to look at, and enjoy our cars.
Thanks to Doug Terrell at Wendy's, and Ray Blackburn, owner of the Wendy's restaurants in our area for making it possible.
Thanks to Doug for his efforts in bringing in Ollies, Foodland, Dollar General and B, B, and T bank as participating sponsors.
Because of their efforts, many door prizes were distributed, and great fun was had by all.
And thanks to the great turnout of club members who worked very hard to put on the great show.
You might notice a theme here--great. Everything's great in 08.
And, I might add, that the cruise in was a huge success in spite of the threatening weather, which fortunately turned favorable just in time. But if the skies had been sunny all day, no doubt the attendance would have been even greater.
One sad note--one of our regular attendees, Jerald Smith, who had the Mazda Sneaky Snake passed away on June 15.
He was at the Widetracker's show the week before, and seemed in good spirits, but unfortunately, he succombed to the cancer shortly after. We will miss him.
And it was also a bittersweet moment to see Billy Beall's car being presented by someone else--we will miss Billy both as a show participant and as a member.
See you at the next meeting, back at Caesar's, and be sure to drive your favorite car.
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures at the cruise-in, but here is picture of my 59 Impala which I cruised in. JVM
